HISTORY OF CYM

The idea of this ministry was conceived in Trinidad and Tobago. We had a youth program (Mega Mission) which brought many young people from all the Islands of the Caribbean. After one of our Sabbath potlucks, Wayne Morgan (Barbados) had suggested that he knew a place that we could take the leftovers to.

What followed after feeding those people changed our lives. The entire community was blessed. Men were weeping and thanking God for providing them with something to eat after days of not having anything. We met new born babies without milk. Our hearts were touched and we had to do something to change their situation. We saw ourselves as ANSWERS to their needs. We came back to the campus and started collecting clothes, shoes, bed sheets, blankets, money and anything to help.

The Ladies of Linda Austin Hall would go and get these little babies for the weekend and shop for them and take them back to their parents after the weekend with supplies that would take these babies through the week. Out of this kind gesture simply from our hearts, many of the community members got baptized and worshiped with us until the last person who was involved in the project graduated.

In the year 2004, we had a reunion in Trinidad on the campus of CUC and most of the members of Youth Fellowship came together for the first time after graduating from OUR DEAR OLE CUC and we decided to come together and do something every four years. The time has come and we are heading to Ghana, West Africa.
